ZenAlgo - Golden Vein

The Golden Vein is an advanced multi-timeframe VWAP indicator for TradingView, designed to combine deep market context and actionable signals into a single, easy-to-read overlay. If you want to know how to read and use every symbol, label, and color—this guide will get you there.

What Makes the Golden Vein Special?

The Golden Vein merges six anchored VWAPs (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, yearly) into a single “composite” called the Vein. It displays crossovers, trend states, and a dynamic range band for quick, confident interpretation—ideal for anyone using VWAPs for both short- and long-term strategies.

TL;DR

See the yellow line? That's the composite “Vein” VWAP. The shaded band is its range. The small color-coded labels (“D↑W”, “W↓M” etc.) are live crossovers between timeframes. Use these to spot multi-timeframe confluence, trend shifts, or warning signals.

Main Visual Elements

1. The Vein (Composite Golden VWAP)

  • Yellow Line
This is the “Vein”—the average of all six VWAPs, showing where “fair value” sits across all major timeframes.
    • Tip: The Vein can act as a dynamic support/resistance or a “magnet” for price over time. The further price stretches from it, the more stretched the market is on every timeframe. ✨

2. Bands: Support & Resistance

  • Shaded white/gray bands above and below the Vein:
    • These bands are either calculated from standard deviation between VWAPs, or a fixed percentage (customizable).
    • The upper band = “Resistance”
      The lower band = “Support”
  • Price breaking above/below the bands can suggest a volatile expansion or a potential exhaustion move.
Breakout Playbook

If price closes outside the upper band, this often signals strong momentum (“Super Bullish”). However, watch for fakeouts in choppy markets—volume context matters!
The same logic applies for the lower band (“Super Bearish”).

3. VWAP Crossovers - Label Symbols

The indicator auto-detects every possible crossover between its VWAPs, marking them with tiny color-coded labels right on the chart:

  • Label Format:

    • "D↑W": Daily VWAP just crossed above Weekly VWAP
    • "M↓Q": Monthly VWAP just crossed below Quarterly VWAP
    • ...and so on for all combinations.
  • Arrow direction:

    • = Lower timeframe crosses above higher (bullish)
    • = Lower crosses below higher (bearish)
  • Colors:

    • Labels are colored by the lower timeframe VWAP (daily = pink, weekly = cyan, monthly = violet, quarterly = orange, semi-annual = green, yearly = purple by default).
  • Label placement:

    • Labels are offset above or below the VWAP, with distance scaled by recent volatility (ATR) so they remain legible, even in fast markets.
Reading Crossovers

Look for clusters of crossovers (e.g., daily above weekly AND weekly above monthly) as signals of building trend strength or a potential reversal.
Filtering out minor, low-confidence crossovers is easy: just focus on higher timeframe combos (e.g., monthly vs quarterly).

4. Market Regime (Trend State Table & Dots)

  • Bottom-Left Table (optional):
Shows the current state—“Bullish”, “Super Bullish”, “Bearish”, “Super Bearish”, or “Neutral”—based on the slope of the Vein and recent price action.
  • State Dots:
Small colored dots (cyan or purple) may also appear at the top/bottom, flagging especially strong bullish or bearish moments.

Interpretation:

  • Super Bullish: Price and Vein are both rising, and price is above the resistance band.
  • Super Bearish: Price and Vein are both falling, and price is below the support band.
  • Bullish/Bearish: Price is inside the bands, but bias is clear.
  • Neutral: No strong momentum.
Quick Scan

Glance at the color of the regime table—lime or green is bullish; orange or red is bearish.
If unsure, check if price is “hugging” the Vein or stretching toward the outer bands.

How to Use the Golden Vein

  1. Spot VWAP Alignment:
When several crossovers occur close together (e.g., D↑W and W↑M within a few bars), the odds of a significant move rise.
  2. Trade at the Band Edges:
Breakouts beyond the upper/lower bands may start strong trends—but beware of sudden mean reversions in low volume.
  3. Watch the Vein as a Magnet:
Prolonged deviation from the Vein often snaps back.
  4. State Table as Confirmation:
Use the regime state to confirm momentum.
  5. Adapt Your Label Settings:
You can control how many labels are shown and when, including special filters for only showing daily crossovers at specific times.

Pro Tips & Best Practices

Multi-Timeframe Confluence

Don't just trade a single crossover. The more timeframes that align (e.g., Daily crosses above Weekly, then Weekly crosses above Monthly), the stronger the signal.

Reduce Chart Clutter

Adjust the “Max label count” input to keep only the most recent, relevant signals on screen—perfect for clean charting on volatile tickers.

No Signal is Perfect!

VWAPs are only as good as the market context. In illiquid or whipsaw conditions, both crossovers and band breakouts can give false signals. Always combine with other confirmation methods and proper risk management.

FAQ

Q: What do I do if there are too many labels?

A: Lower the “Max. label count” or use the special toggle to only show daily crossovers at specific times (e.g., Tuesdays at a set hour). This helps focus on higher-confidence moves.

Q: Can I use this for alerts?

A: Yes! Every crossover and regime state comes with a corresponding alert condition, making it easy to automate strategies or notifications.

Q: Does the band use st. dev or %?

A: You can choose! The default is standard deviation between VWAPs, but you can switch to a custom percentage band for extra control.
